We’re in the midst of that glorious time of the year where everything twinkles and everyone yearns to love a little deeper. It’s the middle of the holiday season and, if you’re like me, you can feel a radiant vibration out in the world during this time of year. It’s the ideal occasion to look at everything we’ve accomplished and dream bigger than ever before. In that spirit, this month’s self-care guide theme is “celebration.”
Hopefully, during last month’s self-care guide which had an emphasis on connection, you’ve had a spell to get form more meaningful relationships. Now, there couldn’t be a more perfect time to take the well-deserved time to pat yourself on the back, dance around in your holiday pajamas, and pop champagne to celebrate how far you’ve come.
There’s no shame in honoring yourself, in fact, I encourage it! It’s also the perfect time to celebrate others. May all the girl gangs, boss babes, and covens gather around during this holiday season to celebrate one hell of a year for women. Am I right, ladies?!
In this self-care guide series, you’ll find self-care practices, self-care products, and inspiration that will guide you through the month and help you unearth your full potential. Be kind to yourself and don’t feel pressured to try everything. Instead, feel free to pick and choose what speaks to you from the guide below, and remember that there is no wrong way to engage in self-care.
Without further ado, here are our picks for our December Self-Care Guide.
Self-Care For Your Mind
Listen to this meditation:
Sparkle and shine with this guided meditation from Glitter in the Dirt. Celebrate yourself by giving yourself the time to sit with your mind and relax.
Repeat This Affirmation:
Say this affirmation with confidence while looking at yourself in the mirror. Say it with gusto or add a power pose. Say it when you first wake up before you put any makeup on. Repeat it when you get dressed up to the nines for a holiday party. Say it until you believe it.
Read This Self-Care Book:
I’m reading this book right now for a book club, and it’s already making me feel like a real badass. The book is described as “a wild joy ride to your own transformation, helping you create the money, relationships, career and general all-around awesomeness you so desire.” Want to get into the holiday spirit? Gift the book to your best friend and celebrate her too!
Self-Care For Your Body
Perform This Yoga Pose (Goddess Pose):
You are a goddess, and you should treat yourself as such! Do this pose for an extra boost of confidence and to remind yourself of your boundless worth. Sway a little, dance a little, and get in-tune with your body. Want to challenge yourself? Hold this pose a little longer each time to try it.
Try Making A Holiday Cocktail.
Girl, after this year, you deserve a drink. Don’t drink alcohol? Make it a virgin cocktail! Either way, you deserve to treat yourself with something totally delicious. Gather your loved ones and celebrate together. Love your body and don’t feel guilty for indulging a little.

Smell This Aroma: Balsam oil
It is the holiday season, after all, so grab some balsam oil to really get into the holiday mood. Did you know this oil is known to reduce pain, prevent infections, improve respiratory function, increase the metabolism, detoxify the body, and reduce body odor?*
Self-Care For Your Spirit
Read Your December Astrology Report
Your December Astrology Report may be calling for a mental shift. In the theme of celebration, read your horoscope like a queen because damn, you are a gem. Think about everything you overcame this year and how beautifully you got to where you are now. Take note of how the planets are aligning for you in December to help you go even further. Draft your birth chart beforehand for even more insight!
Leverage These Crystals: Pyrite
How To Use Pyrite
Use pyrite to protect yourself from any negative energy that could affect your celebration. Carry it with you in your pocket or on a bracelet (I have one!). This crystal harnesses masculine energy, and it’ll help you recognize the abundance of good things in your life and help you manifest even more.
Remember This Self-care Quote:
“We should all be a little nicer, kinder, and compassionate towards ourselves. What if we tried to impress ourselves as much as we try to impress a date or a hiring manager? What if instead of trying to be somebody to someone, we tried being somebody to ourselves?” - Sonya Matejko
That’s right, I said it.

The more you practice self-care, the more equipped you’ll be to make magic happen, and then the more there will be to celebrate! So, enjoy this time and take note of everything - big and small - that manifested for you in 2018.
Cheers your loved ones and give high fives to strangers too, because everyone deserves to be celebrated this time of year. Too often we’re down on ourselves for something, but this is the moment to say, “You know what universe? I got this. Thank you, next.”
See you in 2019!
